Wakaya Perfection is proud to work alongside this dynamic duo. Wendy, originally from the beautiful island of Hawaii, and Reggie, an east coast native, now reside in Fort Washington, Maryland. Nearing their 25th wedding anniversary, they are the proud parents of 3 sons and grandparents of 5 beautiful grandchildren.
Most would look at their hectic family and work life and assume that they are too busy to build a dynamic team that spans 6 time zones. But Wendy, a federal agent, and Reggie, a supervisor in Diplomatic Security for the Department of State, make it work! With a coy smile, Reggie credits his 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps for his disciplined leadership skills. Reggie and Wendy are true testaments that being busy does not mean it is impossible to build a successful part-time business from home. Their real secret? Setting goals and working the business together. Their sights are squarely set on retiring in the next couple of years so they can expand their business all over the US and abroad.
Despite their new found excitement, Reggie and Wendy are not new to the direct sales industry. They embarked on a business over 10 years ago when they met Cynthia Sligh. They tried several companies, however, Wakaya has been the first company where they have seen sustained success. This is due to what they refer to as “Wakaya’s mission and generous compensation plan.” Alongside the comp plan, the couple fell in love with the BulaFITTM program. “We tried many diets, but nothing worked. However, when BulaFIT worked for us, we started building and ranking up in the business. It was a win-win!”
When asked about what stands out the most about the Wakaya Way Wendy said, “(The) Wakaya Way is equivalent to the Hawaiian sayings of ‘Malama Pono which means to ‘take care of’ (whether it’s people or yourself) or the aloha spirit (showing love to all people). They have always practiced malama pono in their life through the aloha spirit because they "value people for who they are” and not just for "what they can do.” When you stop wondering what you can get out of others and focus on what you can do to help them, your business will shift into the right direction.”
Reggie reminds others starting out in direct sales to “stay steady; it is not a race. Take time to educate and support your team, no matter the time it takes to do so. Stay with it, do not give up, and do not worry about what others are saying to you. Consistency is key when building from home.”
This power couple also encourages others to “take advantage of the Pacesetter Program. It is a road map for success. When you can teach others how to achieve those milestones in the beginning of their journeys, your team will grow.” In closing, Reggie and Wendy remind others to understand that “building takes time. Not everyone will be your business partner, especially if they are not ready to run a business. However, everyone can benefit from the products of Wakaya. They can achieve optimal health and the line of options can be tailored to any individual’s needs and budget. In other words, meet people where they are and continue to be a helping hand.”
Reggie and Wendy would just like to tell everyone that, “Wakaya is their ohana(family). And like the movie Lilo and Stitch, ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind."
