Before we get into Blake’s Wakaya story, we should point out that before the launch of Wakaya Perfection, Blake had already proven himself as a 7-figure income earner and was even recognized as one of the “Greatest Networkers in the World” in the 2014 book by the same title. That said, Blake hasn’t brought any special talents, tendencies, or advantages to the business… well, that is except for his heartfelt desire to help people and improve the lives of everyone he meets.
Blake’s Wakaya journey actually started over two decades ago when he left his pre-med studies in favor of the direct sales industry. Friends and family called him crazy, but Blake knew that modern medicine was only one of many healthcare options available to people– and not always the best option. Since that time, Blake has been a student of health and a student of wealth being mentored by many icons, mavericks, and masters of each.
He’s quick to point out that “some of life’s decisions come after careful and time-consuming consideration, while others are forced upon us by other people or life’s circumstances, but that all can be doorways to even greater opportunity.” He also adds that “If what you’re doing now–your job, your diet, your health, your career–isn’t working, it may be time to try something different! It works for me, and it just might work for you too!”
One of his most memorable stories is from his early years in the industry. Strapped for cash, he recalls one of his first goals of being able to afford cheese for his hamburgers. “One day, we’ll be able to afford the extra fifty cents!” A funny and wise story, pointing out that everyone we know and everyone we don’t know struggle with different things at different levels. “To some people, putting cheese on a hamburger is a big deal! To others, sleeping through the night, losing weight, or eliminating pain would be nothing short of miraculous… Do your best to not put your expectations on people, rather find out what their expectations are–then help them to realize them!”
Blake is not only fluent in the languages of health and wealth, but he speaks Japanese as well! He currently resides with his family in Japan and oversees Wakaya’s Japan operations, but he travels back and forth regularly to give business building and wellness seminars to large crowds in person and on various social media platforms.
His advice to new Ambassadors and those looking to break through a plateau? “Keep the main thing the main thing. If you approach every prospect with dollar signs in your eyes, you’ll scare people off… But if you focus on the people, ask good questions, then hush up and listen… they’ll tell you everything you need to know to serve them. Never forget that it’s ALL about the PEOPLE!”
