We're excited to introduce our new recognition article series, MANA (a Fijian description of power and achievement). Each article features an interview with an Ambassador who has achieved the rank of Sapphire or higher.
His story is about drive, perseverance and leadership. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Kevin English, has spent his life helping and leading other. As a coach, it takes a unique personality to lead a team and Kevin’s innate ability to do so has helped shape the many people he has touched. He owned a cell phone store for over 12 years and dabbled lightly in Network Marketing but never with great success. His passion lied in engaging with people, motivating them and teaching them a better way. He saw the value of not having inventory, overhead or being tied to a store day after day so he decided to give Network Marketing another chance. Kevin fearlessly embraced this change and applied his coaching mindset to it. Because Kevin believes that each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out and sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and then, the greatest things can happen.
I am from Baltimore, Maryland where I was born and Raised. I still live and Baltimore where I teach and coach in the county I grew up in. I was introduced to Wakaya Perfection by Andre Vaughn. I coach the Basketball team that he owns (DMV Warriors) and knew his impeccable track record in the industry, so when Andre said he had the perfect opportunity, I literally drove 40 miles in an ice storm to attend the very first Wakaya Perfection Meeting in Maryland.
After 12 years of owning my own cell phone store, I closed my business in 2004 due to the declining economy and I started teaching. I am now a full time high school teacher and high school varsity basketball coach at Randallstown High School, and I coach Andre’s ABA basketball team. I love coaching basketball but I felt there was a void in my life, without having a business or product to promote.
I am so passionate about Wakaya Perfection not only because of the compensation but because of what the products are doing for my Mother’s health. She suffers from fibromyalgia, and diabetes which caused her to have two small strokes and two seizures within the past year. When I received my Paradise pack, I gave her the turmeric, Ginger and Bula Bottle detox caps. Her nurse came to the house after she had been taking the products about 7 days, and told her that her range of motion had improved considerably from a few days earlier, and her high blood sugar had lowered. My mother told her nurse that it was the Wakaya Perfection products. Now she and my father use the products daily.
My approach to achieving the Sapphire level is about consistency. I refuse to make excuses. I attend every meeting in the area and I rarely miss a call. I continue to stay plugged into the training while learning from all the amazing leaders we have in Wakaya Perfection. I am inspired by Barb, Dave, Max, and of course Andre because I know they are making huge sacrifices to help all of us get to the next level. They never complain and help everyone in the Wakaya Perfection family regardless of up-line. THIS, is The Wakaya Way.
